Shriners Hospitals for Children

________

Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of 22 facilities across North America which treat kids with orthopedic injuries, burn injuries, cleft palate and other conditions. Further, the Hospitals treat children regardless of their ability to pay. Some of the most innovative and cutting-edge medical care in the world is provided by the health-care professionals at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Most Alaska patients travel to Shriners Hospitals for Chlldren in Spokane or Portland, though some are sent to other places, depending on their conditions and the exact care they need. The Juneau-Douglas Shrine Club raises funds for the Shriners Hospitsals for Children and for the Al Aska Shriners Patiernt Travel Fund. The Travel Fund is specifically for Alaskan patients, and helps offset the high travel costs to get kids and their families to the Lower 48.
