ROYAL ARCH MASONRY IN JUNEAU, ALASKA
Taku Chapter No. 6, U.D.
An old chapter’s story continues.
Under Dispensation (U.D.) · First meeting December 2026
A HISTORIC CHAPTER REVIVED
Royal Arch Masonry returns to Juneau.
In July 1949, the original Taku Chapter No. 6 received its charter in Juneau, establishing an enduring chapter in the story of Capitular Masonry in Southeast Alaska. Active during the territorial era, the Chapter operated under the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and was still documented in 1959.
That chapter closed in 1962. More than six decades later, Companions in Juneau are bringing the historic Taku name back to life as Taku Chapter No. 6, U.D. under a new dispensation. It is a revival of the tradition, not a claim that the original charter remains in force.
